Takaroa

Takaroa is 24 km long and 8 km wide. It is 8 km from Takapoto. With a lagoon that offered excellent ship anchoring and a 3 m deep pass (Teavanae) connecting it with the ocean, Takaroa became popular very early with pearl and mother-of-pearl traders. The small village of Teavaroa located 2 km from the airport.
